Despite the political beliefs you may have, I feel everyone would agree that we are in a very turbulent political climate. No matter what side you are on, right or left, it is hard to ignore the uprising energy emerging from both parties.
Protesters rallied against Donald Trump's Presidential campaign on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in Manhattan. Over 10,000 people were in attendance, congregating outside Grand Central Station, blocking traffic during an already busy rush hour. Trump, who has made a name for himself as an outspoken candidate for the Republican Party, has made many controversial statements regarding immigrants and minorities that also includes his threat to build a wall on the U.S./Mexican border.
The rally's nucleus centered right outside the New York State Republican Party Gala, where Trump and other GOP Republican candidates were scheduled to speak. Trump, along with Senator Cruz and Governor Kasich, were honored at the Gala. The extravagant event includes a $1,000 plate dinner at the Grand Hyatt across from Grand Central Station. Those in attendance came from a variety of different backgrounds including Muslims, Immigrants, Refugees, African-Americans and Jews who all spoke out against the Republican front runner. Organizers Claim Trump to be a Racist and Chauvinistic candidate who perpetuates a hateful message.
In mid-march thousands of protesters took to the streets of Chicago to protest Donald Trump's rally, forcing the candidate to cancel the event, indefinitely. Rally organizers hoped that this gathering would help encourage followers to take a stand against Trump's message and what better venue to play in than his own turf.
